There are many barriers facing a new restaurant entering the market: lack of brand awareness, initial start-up costs, COVID-19 virus precautions and restrictions, and competition. However, Nate’s robust, strategic, and targeted marketing plan, with support from a lending bank, and the foreseeable containment of the Covid-19 virus, will ensure a successful launch and longevity. Nate’s on Marsh will become the premier neighborhood dining experience for locals and passersby, a relaxed and welcoming home away from home, with the additional luxury of being served.

With over 283,000 people living in San Luis Obispo County, Nate’s on Marsh has identified Diligent Diners as its primary target segment within the food community. Nate’s on Marsh is positioned to cater to Diligent Diners who are male/females, and families from ages 35-65+. They are college graduates with an HHI of $65,000+. They live in and around the surrounding area of the central coast, from Santa Maria to Paso Robles.

Concurrently the tried and true testimonies of word of mouth will serve extremely effectively to promote Nate’s on Marsh.

Before earning a degree in Agribusiness and agricultural Business Operations at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo (with an emphasis on Marketing to boot!), Nate worked his way up to San Francisco's top restaurants with acclaimed mentors like Chef Joseph Manzare of Postrio and Spago fame.

Under the guidance of restaurateurs Joseph Manzare and Mary Klingbeil, Nate managed and marketed a number of celebrated restaurants, including Globe, Zuppa, and Joey & Eddie's. Driven to develop new skills, he coordinated private dining experiences, tended bars, curated impactful wine lists, and learned to ensure busy kitchens keep up with dining demands. During this time, he discovered secrets to lasting success: clear communication, seasonal menu planning, and a commitment to exceeding industry standards.

Creative, with a strategic mind, Nate also managed brand strategy and marketing efforts for one of the nation's leading lettuce producers, Tanimura & Antle. Today, he leads the dedicated team of Nate's on Marsh—the flagship restaurant of his growing hospitality business, NRL Food Group.
