Green Clean Machine is a professional eco-friendly and truly non-toxic cleaning, education/training and organizing service.Green Clean Machine is a professional eco-friendly and truly non-toxic cleaning, education/training and organizing service.
I formed my firm in 2020, as I became tired of the over use of wasteful, harmful chemicals in the home and office. I wished to help heal the planet with safe, effective cleanings, educating and teaching clients how to make cost effective switches to more eco-friendly products and help clients declutter and organize without having the need to repurchase items to take their place.
All our team members believe in our mission to help make the earth a cleaner, safer place to live. We love what we do because we know it helps make business owners and families have more peace and calm in their home/office, while allowing them more time with their loved ones and more time to do what they want!
As with any new business, we’ve had highs and lows. Our highs have been truly helping all our clients. The low point has been dealing with the ups and downs of the pandemic, gaining and losing clients, the shut downs and the unknowns.
I have learned being a new business owner, especially during these difficult times, I have personal issues I needed to work on! Tough times bring out buried insecurities I thought I’d already worked out during my formative years. But I’ve learned I can really get through anything. It isn't the end of the world if your business doesn't always go to plan.
I contacted SCORE to gain wisdom and guidance from people who have been through the ups and downs of businesses. I wanted to know what it was like to have a business from beginning to end and what to expect. I needed help with accounting, programs, marketing, obtaining clients, exceeding their needs and expectations and what to expect from employees.
My mentors, Bob and Thorv, were very attentive, responsive, great listeners, very positive and encouraging, and also straightforward and honest when they needed to be.
I’ve found the keys to starting a successful business are doing as much research as possible in your industry, be open to talking to competitors and see what they've been through, make sure to save up as much money as possible to pay your own bills for at least a year, and make honest, compassionate connections with your community. Find other local small businesses you would refer their services to your clients and vice versa. We can be successful if we are helping each other, not all fighting to get to the top.
I recommend SCORE to anyone interested in starting any kind of business. Try all their services. It’s such an incredible opportunity. I have been so grateful for all their help! I felt more confident in moving forward with my business rather than just trying to do it on my own.
